When should I use Intangibles as Shipment Type?

Intangibles, also known as General Head Note 1 (GN1), are a U.S. shipment type used to clear certain types of goods through U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This type of Informal Entry permits the release of shipments containing the following commodities:

1. Corpses, coffins, and accompanying flowers
2. Records, diagrams, and other data related to business, engineering, or exploration operations, whether on paper, cards, photographs, blueprints, tapes, or other media
3. Articles returned from space
4. Aircraft parts or equipment removed from a U.S.-registered aircraft
