An In Bond shipment is a U.S. shipment type used for goods clearing through CBP. It permits the inland movement of goods that have not yet been released by Customs.

An In Bond shipment is necessary for cargo moving to an inland port for Customs release, transiting through the U.S. to another country, or being immediately exported.

Only bonded carriers are authorized to transport In Bond shipments.
