What is an EXP (Filing Expiry) response?

An EXP (Filing Expiry) referral is issued when a Request for Information (RFI) raised by NAIC is not resolved within the prescribed 200‑day period. If the filer fails to submit the required information within this timeframe, the filing expires and an EXP response is generated.

Once an EXP referral is issued, the existing filing can no longer be updated or amended. To proceed, the filer is required to initiate a new filing and restart the submission process from the beginning.
