What are the time frames for providing electronic advance house bill data based on mode?
With the implementation of eManifest, freight forwarders in all modes of transportation will be required to transmit advance house bill data on consolidated freight electronically to the CBSA. The data must be received and validated by the CBSA prior to arrival, within the prescribed mode-specific time frames.
The freight forwarder is required to provide House bills and Close Messages to the CBSA within the time frames
specified in the Reporting of Imported Goods Regulations. House bills and Close Messages may be submitted up
to 90 days in advance. The House bills and associated Close Message must be accepted by the CBSA within the
prescribed time frames as shown in the chart below:
