Timeframes for Transmission of the IID
An IID can be sent to the CBSA for processing 90
day prior to the arrival of the goods at the FPOA in Canada.
An IID will be automatically cancelled if the IID is 90 days old and there is no associated cargo or if there is an associated cargo document that is either a non-reported or non-arrived status. Effectively this means that, if no changes have been made to an IID for 90 days, and if no cargo documents referenced by that IID have been reported (or arrived), the IID will be automatically cancelled.
