How to Participate in CSA Program?
Participating carriers and registered drivers in the highway mode can expedite the clearance of CSA-eligible goods at the border once identification verifies that the importer, carrier, and driver are pre-approved.
With this simplified clearance process, transactional data transmissions for eligible goods are no longer required.
Carriers applying to the CSA program must meet the following criteria:
- They are bonded for $25,000 or more.
- They have been transporting goods to or from Canada for at least 90 days.
- They have no history of contraband or major commercial infractions.
- They accept liability for and maintain control over all shipments, including CSA-approved ones, until the goods are released.
- They provide senior management authorization, ensuring that their commercial business processes and audit trails support CSA program requirements.
