Reason: The manufacturer’s WMI is not valid or not declared.

Resolution: Go to Invoice > Items > Item Details and check the Manufacturer details WMI, then, go to Commodity Party, and check the Party Identifier, should be a valid WMI.

Please note: The maximum length for the WMI field should be 6 alphanumeric characters. The 3rd digit of the WMI determines the expected length of the WMI field. The WMI data is only mandatory for the Appendix G program, which is for the importation of new fully complying vehicles originating from a registered foreign manufacturer. If a client, however, supplies a WMI in the Manufacturer (MF) or Assembler (DFT) fields for other RIV programs, SWI will perform the 3- or 6-digit validation as noted above.
