How to fix "CFIA: License number entered does not cover food being Imported. Verify license in MY CFIA"?
Reason: The license number entered was not issued for the commodity that is being declared.
Resolution: Review the detailed descriptions of each commodity and sub-commodity. They can check Annex-A - Food commodity identified in the license application of the guidance document. Review the HS code and OGD extension declared. Make sure to declare the appropriate for the food being imported.
If the current license was not issued for the correct commodity you can either:
* Amend the current license in My CFIA portal account to include the commodities and sub-commodities that will be exported for that license; or
* Apply for a new SFC license to Import using My CFIA account.
Re-submit the declaration once a notification has been received that the license was issues or amendment accepted.
NOTE: License amendments are free of charge. New SFC licenses are subject to fees.
