How should filers respond to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by NAIC?

When an RFI is issued, filers are required to respond by submitting an updated filing that includes the requested information. Depending on the nature of the request, this may involve correcting or completing data elements in the filing and/or attaching supporting documents, such as invoices, packing lists, or other relevant documentation specified in the RFI. The requested information must be provided to allow NAIC to complete its assessment of the shipment.

Requests for Information (RFIs) must be addressed through an updated electronic filing submitted in the NAIC system. Filers are required to revise the existing filing to include the requested information and, where applicable, attach supporting documents as specified in the RFI. This updated submission allows NAIC to continue and complete its assessment of the shipment.

Cargo loading is allowed only after an updated ACT or ACW response is received following the submission of the RFI response. Until one of these assessment responses is issued, cargo must not be loaded.
